YGG - Young, Gifted & Green
 

Young, Gifted & Green (YGG) is a promotions company that has been promoting the Irish Arts since 1990. It produces and directs its own shows and events, as well as handling all the publicity. It's YGG troupe have helped raise over £78,000 for charity in four years.

The promotes anything from Traditional Irish Music and dance right through to unsigned bands with Irish roots. It has also promoted alternative Irish Comedy and Drama.

YGG has been the main promoter behind the Manchester Irish Festival which began in 1995, and has been described by The Irish Post as the biggest Irish festival in the UK.

Traditional Irish Music, Song & Dance

On the traditional Irish scene it has promoted some of the biggest Irish Stars who include;

James Galway, Frances Black, Mary Coughlan, Dervish, Riverdance, 'White Water' from BBC's Philharmonic Orchestra. Mike McGoldrick - BBC Radio 2's instrumentalist of the Year & RTE's Young Traditional Musician of the Year -Dexzi Donnelly.

It has its own 100 strong Irish Music Song & Dance troupe which had its world premiere at the 2,000 capacity Bridgewater Hall.

Unsigned Irish Music

A demo tape from a then unknown Irish Mancunian band called 'Oasis' led the company to organsise an annual competition called 'YGG Unsigned'. The competition aims to uncover the next world conquering supergroup.
