The concert sold out the 2,000 capacity Bridgewater Hall 12 weeks before the show and raised over £18,000 for Francis House Children's Hospice.

This was the world première of a new Irish Music and Dance show that emulates Riverdance and Lord of the Dance. It featured some of the UK's premier Irish musicians, dancers and singers.

The show's principal dancers were James Keegan the World Irish Dancing champion, who last year smashed Michael Flatley's Irish Dancing record and the 1999 British National champion Melissa McDonnell.

The Award winning musicians Michael McGoldrick, Dezi Donnelly and the BBC's Philharmonic Irish group 'White Water were just some of the special guests involved in the show.

The highly acclaimed troupe of one hundred performers (from St. Bede s College) have made numerous appearances on TV with special features on the BBC's Songs of Praise and Blue Peter.

Eamonn O'Neal from Granada TV was the compère for this very special evening of Irish culture which celebrates contemporary and traditional Irish Music, Song and Dance.

Francis House Children's Hospice

The Hospice cares for children who are terminally ill and their families, offering a much needed respite and terminal care. Helping their children to live life to the full, according to their ability and capacity is important to all parents, with the children, families coming to Francis House this is vital, for time is short.

The support of so many wonderful people brought Francis House into being and only their continuing help can secure it s future.
