Junior Football Club
Manchester Eagles Junior Football Club is the proud possessor
of it's own private ground, Rushford Park Sports Complex on Slade
Lane in Levenshulme.
The Club boasts 2 pitches, a floodlit astroturf training area, changing rooms
for six teams, a cafe and car park.
Club Secretary Steve Bullows formed the club in 1990 with the
sole aim of providing football for youngsters throughout the community.
Besides running Sunday League teams the Club runs Saturday
Mini Soccer sessions for boys and girls of all abilities aged 7 to 12.
Soccer Schools are run during all the school holidays where the the youngsters
are taught the basics of football whilst having fun and making new friends.
Steve Bullows, who is a U.E.F.A. Football Association qualified coach,
has one
motto for the club which is " to provide football for youngsters in a safe and
structured environment".
With this in mind all the Eagles managers are F.A. qualified and members of the Football
Association Coaches Association.
The ground is one of the most modern in the country and in 1999 was
nominated by the Football Association from 43,000 football clubs for the
national title
of "Sports Club of the Year".
This special recognition was topped in the 2000 season by the Under 12's and
14's who both achieved the magical double of League and Cup Champions,
the first silverware ever won by Manchester Eagles.
